Product of the Week: TJ Farms Select Sliced Peaches

I thought it would be fun to occasionally post a Product of the Week to let you all know some of the nutritious products I particularly like.
This week, our product in the spotlight is the frozen sliced peaches by TJ Farms Select*.

I pick these up at a dollar store in Toledo. At 16 oz for $1, you can’t beat the deal. That’s roughly 5 cups of peaches per bag. I like to use them in smoothies and oatmeal as well as to keep around as back-up for those times I run out of fresh fruit.
The real winning point for this product is the ingredient list. Here, I’ll copy it below:
Ingredients: Peaches.
Seriously. That’s the only ingredient! Frozen fruits and vegetables can be terrific alternatives to fresh, but always check the ingredient list. Many frozen fruit products have added sugar, which adds empty calories and detracts from an otherwise healthy choice.
TJ Farms Select also has several other frozen fruit products that contain no added sugar, including their 12 oz Blueberries, 16 oz Strawberries, 12 oz Blackberries, and 12 oz Berry Medley. Whenever I see these at the dollar store, I make sure to stockpile a few bags.
Has anyone seen this product anywhere besides the Dollar Tree? Any other fans out there, or similar products you like? If so, please comment here!
Thanks for reading!
Anna
*Please note: I am not paid in any way for any product endorsement at this time. I just like to share!

  1. YES!! I stumbled upon your blog looking for TJ Farms reviews. I was very skeptical when I saw 10oz of frozen mango at my local Dollar General store. Purchased one bag and loved them! I went back today and bought 10 more bags. Hubby and I eat smoothies every morning and I'm always looking for deals on frozen fruit.

  3. I have been replacing much of my meals with vegetable and fruit smoothies with great success. I am so happy to have stumbled upon these at the dollar store. Before that ihave always used the frozen fruits from Costco but find these way more sweeter and stronger in fruit flavor.

I usually throw in spinach, banana, cucumber and either soy or coconut milk along with honey.

For me, this is the best way to get my daily fruit and veggies.

  6. I think you made a mistake? I live in Toledo, Ohio, I buy mine at The Dollar Tree, the bag says "12 OZ" not "16 OZ", and "5 cups" will not fit in this bag. And anyone (without a degree) knows "16 OZ" = 1 cup. I have an executive chef living in my house for 8+ years now and he even knows that. Please blog carefully and honestly for us all who would love to hear your blessings to us, and we will for you.

My contribution is "Notice the Scriptures on the back of each of the bags: Blueberries, Peaches, Strawberries, Mangos, and Mixed Fruit at The Dollar Tree where I get mine. And, I have a ministry looking for products with Scripture on, I welcome anyone to notify me of any other product with Scripture on, I will post them, the brand name, the Scripture(s), and where to get (chain food store) Find and click the icon button on www dot 1JMM dot com that says "The Kings Choice" (you could win a free product on the list - contest)."

    1. I love the frozen strawberries by TJ Farms, particularly since the packages all have Biblical scriptures on them which is encouraging and the company seems to have a tremendous interest in working with local vendors and retailers to establish relationships between the company and the community. There are many products that are either produced by Christian companies or they feature Biblical scriptures on them. Ezekiel bread is another one that is based upon the Prophet Ezekiel and his instruction from the Lord to make a certain type of bread to eat during a very lengthy fast God commanded him to do.

    2. Look at the photo above...16 ounces. Also, 16 ounces = 2 cups.

    1. I too purchased a 12 oz bag of frozen peaches and they are tasty. I noticed the Scripture on the bag "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." In my Bible this is Romans 8:28. The Scripture on this bag reads -Psalm 100:5. Hope no one is quoting these Scriptures thinking it is correct, without checking the source first.

  9. The fruit and vegetables are also found in woodmans grocery store. The bible verses are a nice added touch but just so you know its not printed word for word from the bible. I have my personal copy of the bible but I like to compare different bibles so i often look up on the JW.org they compare all bible vs. On there if your interested for those of you interested in reading scriptures from the bible. Best book ever written

  10. Sorry to burst your bubble, anyone without a degree should know 1 Cup = 8 oz, therefore 16 oz = 2 Cups, Ask your 'executive Chef'.

  11. The 1 cup equals 8 ounces rule only applies to liquids. 1 cup of flour, for instance, weighs 4.5 ounces.
